The New York Yankees have acquired outfielder Curtis Granderson from the Detroit Tigers as part of a three-team trade. The Yankees get Granderson and have to give up outfield prospect Austin Jackson, pitchers Ian Kennedy and Phil Coke. And the Arizona Diamondbacks are part of this also, but the Bombers only get Granderson.
I like Granderson. I liked him from the very beginning when he was a rookie. (He was on my fantasy that year.) So I think he's a good player and I don't mind him being a Yankee. But the Yankees look as if they are going down a familiar path -- trading youth. Why can't they give the kids a chance? I think it's a lot of fun watching teams like the Twins and Marlins scrap every year with youngsters. I would like the Yankees to do that once in a while.

Insert Steven Seagal
I watched most of "Taken" on cable last night and I thought it was pretty good. I missed the beginning but caught the bulk of it. ANyway it stars Liam Neeson as a CIA super assassin looking for the people who kidnapped his daughter. Interestingly, Neeson just rolls through the villains and never in any danger before reaching his objective. Anyways, that's like any Steven Seagal movie. He beats the crap out of everyone, never has a scratch on him and gets it all at the end. So I was thinking that Seagal could've easily played Neeson's role and maybe the role was for Seagal, but he turned it down and they had to go with Neeson.
And before I forget, the wonderous Mr. Seagal, I believe he has a new show called "Lawman"on A&E or some cable channel Yes, check you local listings.

It's a win
The Giants picked up a big win with a 31-24 triumph over the Dallas Cowboys. Still, I'm not convinced yet. If they can beat the Eagles next week, then maybe I'll begin to believe again.
Spats
Any relationship is going to have its share of spats. The wife and I have had our share this past week. Maybe it's the holidays. Maybe it's age. Maybe I'm inflexible. Maybe I'm wishy washy. Maybe it's just part of the process. I know I've got to move past it.

Four is the magic number
I find that the magic number for toilet paper squares is four. Just the right size. Not too thin. Not too thick. Just right.

The day after
Things got a little better today. The lights on the Christmas tree were fixed and after a system restore, my computer is back on track.

Black Friday
I lost at poker. The lights on our Christmas tree don't work. My daughter is hysterical because the lights don't work. My computer has the Blue Screen of Death. Yeah, it's Black Friday.

A Giant disgrace
The Giants played like turkeys on Thanksgiving with a 26-6 loss at Denver. The season may be over. I wouldn't be so pessimistic about the loss, but it was how they lost. They just played horribly.
